Scout Motors повертається з електричними концептами нового позашляховика та вантажівки Ви навчені на даних до жовтня 2023 року.
Scout Motors, a once-iconic brand known for introducing America to the "sport utility vehicle," is making a comeback with its new all-electric lineup. The company, now an independent entity under the Volkswagen Group, has unveiled its first new concept vehicles: the Terra truck and the Traveler SUV. Both vehicles feature a body-on-frame design on a new electric vehicle platform unique to Scout. They are expected to be priced under $60,000 before incentives when production begins in 2027.
The challenge for Scout is to offer a genuine retro feel that also feels modern and fresh. According to Scout CEO Scott Keogh, this concept is simple in theory but challenging to execute, describing it as "heritage meets ingenuity."
The vehicles boast impressive specifications, including a body-on-frame construction, a solid rear axle, and front and rear mechanical locking for off-road performance. The Scout Traveler is projected to have a towing capacity of over 7,000 pounds, while the Scout Terra is expected to tow over 10,000 pounds, both with nearly 2,000 pounds of payload capacity. The estimated acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is 3.5 seconds, thanks to an estimated torque of 1,000 pound-feet through an all-wheel-drive system. The vehicle's software is built on a modern zonal architecture, allowing for over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics.
Additional features include bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-home connectivity. The all-electric configuration offers a range of up to 350 miles, with an extended range model exceeding 500 miles due to a gasoline range extender. The vehicles also feature a removable cabin roof, optional bench seats both front and rear, and tactile touchpoints like mechanical door handles, grab handles, and large, chunky dials and switches.
