Multi-Code Electronics (MCE), a local provider of automotive electronics and mechatronics solutions, through its subsidiary MCE Ventures, has announced a memorandum of understanding with China's Nanjing Chuhang Technology. They aim to develop and market automotive millimeter-wave radar units to be manufactured in Malaysia for global markets, excluding China. The collaboration will establish a new company combining their strengths. Chuhang will provide technical expertise, including technology transfer and product development support, while MCE will set up a manufacturing facility at its upcoming MCE Auto Hub in Serendah. This partnership will also focus on research and development, covering both software and hardware aspects of mmWave radar systems, crucial for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving applications. Founded in 2017, Chuhang is a pioneer in millimeter-wave radar sensor technology, with a pre-research center in Stuttgart, headquarters in Nanjing, and manufacturing bases in Shanghai and Anqing. The company has partnerships with major automakers, including Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, Leapmotor, Chery, Great Wall, Dongfeng, and VinFast.
