2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a completely new design, maintaining its status as an accessible compact luxury sedan positioned below the 3 Series. It sacrifices some key BMW qualities, like rear-wheel drive and some interior materials, but remains a decent value for money.

The 2025 model offers all-wheel drive (xDrive) options, with a front-wheel-drive version on the way. It uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The 228 variant has 241 horsepower, while the M235 version boosts power to 312 horsepower. The M235 is notably quick, reaching 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds, and features enhancements like larger wheels and adaptive suspension.

Fuel economy estimates are not yet official, but BMW claims the 228 xDrive should achieve 38 mpg, while the M235 reaches 33 mpg. The interior features a curved display and vegan leather upholstery, with options for lumbar support and heated steering wheel. The Gran Coupe offers 12 cubic feet of cargo space, surpassing competitors like the Mercedes CLA and Audi A3.

The car includes a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and 10.7-inch central display, with standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. Safety features include collision warning and lane-keeping assist. The starting price is $41,600, with the M235 variant priced at $49,500.
